Evian Resort Golf Club
A 9-hole course was originally built in 1904 and extended to 18 holes in 1922. The course was completely renovated from 1988-1990 and hosted the first ever Evian Masters in 1994. Remodeling continued through the years but the course seemed to maintain its personality and the Evian Masters started feeling like a major long before it was officially declared as one.
The home of the Evian Masters received a total renovation and the tournament got a name change to The Evian Championship in 2013, the first year of major status. With past winners like Annika Sorenstam, Juli Inkster, Karrie Webb, Inbee Park and Suzann Pettersen, this course and this tournament has proven itself to be a true major championship.
